AnJie’s Senior Consultant Liu Guangfu was Invited by QHP to Lecture on Relevant Provisions of the Civil Code
On September 22, 2020, at the invitation of Xinjiang Qianhai United Property & Casualty Insurance Co. Ltd. (“QHP”), AnJie’s Senior Consultant Liu Guangfu expressed his views on the key articles of the new Civil Code and their impact on the settlement of insurance disputes. The audience included employees in charge of law, compliance, underwriting, claims, and product development at the company's headquarters and branches.
Mr. Liu Guangfu, with his unique experience as both a commercial trial judge and head of litigation management within an insurance company, explained the impact of the relevant Civil Code amendments on insurance product development, internet insurance product sales, underwriting, claims, insurance subrogation, and other businesses. He also offered specific, practical suggestions on how best to navigate these changes to the law.
During the lecture, Mr. Liu Guangfu addressed six key issues related to the Civil Code, including standard clauses, the establishment time of electronic contracts, the right to terminate insurance contracts, the system of fault, the object of the right of subrogation of insurance, and the statutory limitations. When talking about specific issues, Mr. Liu first compared the relevant amendments and provisions of the Civil Code with similar rules included in previous laws and regulations, and he introduced in detail the reasons behind the amendments. Then he analyzed the influence of these changes on the insurance industry, and advised the audience on applying the modifications within the Civil Code with the related provisions of the Insurance Law.
The lecture was delivered via live broadcast. The chief manager and other leaders of QHP attended the lecture. After the lecture, Mr. Liu Guangfu held a question & answer session with the audience members to elaborate on his analysis.
